MyMedicare Initiative
The Australian Government is encouraging all patients to register in MyMedicare — a new program designed to strengthen your connection with your regular GP and improve your long-term health.
It’s completely free and voluntary, and registering simply means you’re nominating us as your preferred clinic. This helps ensure you get better access, longer telehealth appointments, and more personalised care — especially if you have ongoing health needs.
Why register?
Once registered, you’ll benefit from:
-
Longer Medicare-funded telehealth consultations with your usual GP
-
More personalised and consistent care from the team who knows your health history
-
Better planning and follow-up if you have chronic or ongoing health conditions
-
Stronger support between visits, helping you stay well for longer
This is part of a national push to make GP care more proactive, better coordinated, and centred on your ongoing health journey.
Who can register?
You’re eligible if:
-
You have a Medicare card or DVA Veteran Card, and
-
You’ve had two in-person visits at Evans Street Medical Clinic in the past two years
You can only register with one practice at a time, but you’re free to change it later if needed.

Why now?
The government is rolling out MyMedicare as part of its plan to strengthen Medicare and improve the way healthcare is delivered across Australia. Registering ensures you’re part of this improved system — and that your care is backed by the team that already knows and supports your health.
